Zgodnie z Zarządzeniem nr 21/2012 Nadleśniczego Nadleśnictwa Gniezno z dnia 29.10.2012 r. i opartego na nim regulaminie, lasy Nadleśnictwa Gniezno objęte są leśnym monitoringiem wizyjnym.
Monitoring z użyciem elektronicznych urządzeń rejestrujących stosowany jest do ujawniania przestępstw i wykroczeń w zakresie szkodnictwa leśnego oraz naruszenia innych norm porządku publicznego na terenach i gruntach zarządzanych przez Lasy Państwowe Nadleśnictwo Gniezno.
